Japan (Nihon/日本) “The land of Rising Sun” is the country of great warriors “The Ninjas”, Mt. Fuji and the country of Dragons. Japan is among the most developed country of the world which the only Asian country is being a member of the G7 (Group of Seven).  Beautiful hills and mountains, colorful cities, peace, rich tradition and culture are some of the main features of Japan. The capital city of Japan is Tokyo, which is also the most populated city of the world. Besides Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Shizuoka, Kobe, Sendai, Hokkaido, etc. are some of the major cities Japan. Japan is an Island country of eastern Asia. Japan’s Time zone is GMT +9 which means Japan’s time is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. So, according to this, Japan is the first country of the world where the sun rises. The Currency of Japan is Yen.    

Japan is one of the most literate countries in the world with whopping 99% Literacy rate. Japan welcomes with arms wide open to the foreign students who wish to pursue a degree in any field of higher education with both self-funded and scholarship scheme. As per the survey made among Nepalese students who wish to pursue higher education abroad, Japan comes in the second position after Australia followed by India. More than 90 % of the higher education graduates from a Japanese university or college have a decent job. 1st Nepali satellite “Nepalisat-1” was developed by Aabhas Maskey and Hariram Shrestha, who are Ph.D. scholars at Japanese Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. So, the scope of studying in Japan is very broad with international recognition.
